I always have a loose setting - we dont want to get too many details down here. But I do like to know who the enemy is before I start- saying that, neither of us knew the enemy in Grimmoire but we had the origional point of getting home. Something to aim for when everything else invaded.
Before we started writing Grimmoire we knew we would be sucked into a book into a fantasy land and that we would have to find our way home.
Before we write this - we dont need all points - but a loose setting of who we are, where we are, and something to aim for (doesn't have to be an enemy or the odds but something to initially aim for) is a good starting point

Trolls, Wizards, Warlocks - I am happy to give anything a go. Three against the odds is fine by me. What/who is our nemesis? It already sounds quite post apocalyptic to me. Are we in the future or the past?

Most things are still undecided as you can see - the 3 of us against the odds sounds good then - that shall be what it is.
Where would you want to be future or past? Or now? or parallell universe with a completely different time frame?
Future sounds like fun - many things we can do with future- post apocolyptic sounds cool to - dystopian theme maybe?

Yes, I always like a bit of dystopian. Future is good. More scope for the imagination, possibly.

James? any thoughts? or have they finally dragged you into that meeting?
Personally I like the shape this is taking. Dystopian to me kind of suggests we're gonna be against the government / authority / political powers of the day. Are we the start of the rebel force?

This could still be fantasy or sci-fi too, who's to say we haven't had first contact or that elves and warlocks haven't been discovered and integrated into society. Trolls can smash business meetings to their hearts content under the current system.

Think James finally got dragged into that meeting - anyhow, fruitbat
What sort of things do you like - what kind of character would you like to play in what kind of world?

I like the idea of trolls being part of society. I am not sure what kind of character at this stage. I will have to give it some thought. Probably someone that thinks the trolls have redeeming features, despite others being terrified of them.

Very Cool. I don't know about my own character yet - I know she will have attitude -all my characters have had attitude (simply cause I'm too nice to give anyone attitude in my own life)
I like that idea with the trolls - i can already imagine how that could work into the story in amazing ways. Funny ways, subtle ways, beautiful ways. Good idea.

I've been trying to think of scenarios. How about space exploration where the trolls are only along because of their ability to work in high gravity. No one really wants them until something major happens. Or the survivors of a reality rip that's closed leaving them trying to find their place on the real world?

Space exploration! That leaves a wide world open to us. I think we gotta have the trolls now - we seem to be getting attached to trolls.
What do you mean by a reality rip? sounds interesting whatever it is.

I was thinking your being sucked into a book idea but backwards, stuff being blown out. The other thought was a fake afterlife with people trapped, keeping with the dystopia idea. Could have a fantasy feel. Run by Trolls?!

that does sound rather cool too. Again loads we could do with all of these ideas - blown out of a book - not heard that one before - you have a good mind for creativity. Fake Afterlife? kinda creepy kinda cool, run by trolls... i'm actually getting giddy with excitement - can't wait till we've managed to get started.
